New This Summer!
The Rooted Mosaic Book Club
You care about this work. You've done the reading, sat in the hard conversations, and tried to show up differently. Maybe that clarity has brought its own kind of weight. You know enough to know something needs to change, but you're not always sure how to translate what you believe into accountable, consistent action. Or maybe you've been at this for a while, and you're tired — not because you've stopped caring, but because racial justice work is a marathon, and you weren't trained to run one.
This summer, Rooted Mosaic is gathering a community to read and discuss Racial Justice for the Long Haul: How White Christian Advocates Persevere (and Why) by Christine Jeske. Together we'll find renewed courage, clarity, and connection for the road ahead.

This book club is for anyone who feels called to the work of racial justice and wants to stay in it for the long haul — not just through a moment of urgency, but as a sustained practice. It is especially designed for white Christians who want space to ask hard questions, reflect honestly, and grow alongside others without placing that labor on people of color. It is also for people of color who are willing to enter a multi-ethnic space where real transparency and vulnerability are the goal. Wherever you're starting from, the invitation is the same: come ready to learn, to be uncomfortable, and to keep showing up.

This Book Club will be facilitated by Julia Van Der Werf, founder of Rooted Mosaic.
Julia holds this space not as an expert with answers, but as a practitioner committed to formation, discernment, and accountable presence. Her work centers helping individuals and communities navigate complexity with humility, clarity, and care—especially at the intersection of identity, power, and faith.
* Registration will stay open until May 30th. Email rootedmosaic@gmail.com if you have any questions.
